A Wonderful Weekend

Audrey Update – 10/16/2007

We have completed a wonderful weekend with Audrey being able to receive visits from her extended family. The hospital graciously provided us with a private patient room just outside the ICU where we could have as many visitors as we wanted. At one point, there about 15 of us (brothers and sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents) all squeezed in. Everyone was able to take a turn holding her etc. On Sunday, a professional photographer donated her time and resources and took a bundle of pictures of Audrey and her family. We have been provided every conceivable courtesy – and beyond – by the hospital staff. They have anticipated our needs and accommodated our every request, and we will be forever grateful.

On the medical front, Audrey is doing very well. She is recovering nicely from the intestinal issue – so well in fact that today we were able to have the last of her ‘tubes and wires’ removed. For the first time since she was just hours old, she is free of them! Just to clarify (as we had to do with the doctor) – her doing well should not be taken as an indication that her overall underlying condition has changed. Her time with us will still likely be short – but at least for now it is of a better quality. She started feeding from a bottle yesterday and has been eating pretty well – and on a regular basis. That will make the transition much easier as, in a day or two we hope to bring her home!!

Praises and more praises! I can picture everyone squeezed in and enjoying the blessing that Audrey is.

So glad you had this wonderful time with family and that Audrey is doing well, considering. We prayed for her at our home study tonight and everyone prayed to the Lord for a miracle. All in all, our prayer for your family is that God’s will (whatever that might be) would be your heart’s content and that you will feel His peace and presence through this.
So excited Audrey gets to go home soon!
    We will continue praying.
Much love – Stef Arnold and family

We rejoice with you and thank Our Heavenly Father for the blessing of a special weekend! Audrey is so sweet and a treasure from above.

Our prayers are always with you. Isaac reminds me every night that we need to pray for “Baby Sister”. In the beginning we told him that Noah had a baby sister and she was sick and we needed to pray for her, so now he just refers to Audrey as “Baby Sister”. I love the innocence and sincerity of children.

    Love,
    The Gala Family

How great is our God!!! What a great weekend with extended family able to hold and spend time with Audrey and with you. We are looking forward to her homecoming and our prayers, as always, are with you.

Sam and Sarah, if I can do ANYTHING, let me know.

Praise the Lord. I am so pleased to hear that Audrey is doing as well as she is and that she can come home soon. My sister was over the other night and I told her about blessed Baby Audrey and she called a prayer line to have Audrey prayed for. Your faith will get you through this. I loved reading about all of you there together. You all remain in my prayers.

    Dearest Sara, Sam & family
I just heard about Audrey Maria yesterday morning when I ran into Amy at bible study! I just want you to know that I am praying for her & all of you. As soon as she told me her name the song Ave Maria was playing in my mind. We were worshipping & the scripture
‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart’ came to me as well.
I loved seeing the pics of your beautiful lil angel & her family. Please know that I am here if you just need to talk or anything
Sara. With love from your friend Maxine

Audrey is a beautiful little girl who is blessed to be part of the Wood family. Amy has been keeping me up to date but this is the first time I have had to sign on. My Prayers continue to be with you and God’s comfort, strength and Peace.
    Much love,
    Melody

May God bless and protect precious Audrey Maria and her family during this time. Please know that you all are in our prayers and thoughts every day. I heard from Jojo that Audrey is absolutely adorable and as cute as can be. Please give Audrey a big kiss and hug from us. As we have told Jojo and Ben, if there is anything you need or if there is anything we can do for you, please just ask.
    Love,
    Claire and Dave

Dear Sara and family…you are in our prayers. We prayed for your family at our church prayer meeting on Weds too, that God will bless your family and that your time with baby Audrey will be filled with sweet and wonderful times. She is truly a gift from the Lord! Glad the family will be able to be back together again soon.

    love you…jill and family
